About Mufaro's
Established in 2003, Mufaro’s Family Foods has gone from strength to strength and can now proudly claim to be the only company in the UK that provides traditional and natural African yoghurt.
Now based in Erith, Kent, this family run company originally started out in Belvedere, South East London and was formed because the Rambakudzibga family wanted to replicate the traditional and healthy yoghurt drinks they had grown up eating in Africa.
The family set about creating a new and effective yoghurt and soon Hodzeko-Amasi was the result. Meaning fermented milk, Hodzeko-Amasi was soon garnering a lot of interest from relatives, friends and other African born people who wanted a traditional and natural product to not only improve their well-being but also remind them of their heritage.
Interest From Europe
As the product grew, so did the company’s desire to expand and it was not long before Mufaro’s Family Foods had moved to Erith, where it is now based. This gave us the opportunity to provide our natural and healthy product to customers from across the UK.
We have also recently developed a probiotic version of our popular yoghurt and this is a great way of tilting the balance in favour of good bacteria in your digestive tract. This will ensure that your body is greater prepared to fight infections caused by salmonella and E. coli, as well as disorders like bowel cancer.
Hodzeko-Amasi has now started to gain interest from Europe and indeed, customers in Holland and France have taken advantage of not only our exceptional product, but also our professionalism, customer focused approach and friendly staff.
High Demand
With demand for our yoghurt reaching impressive levels, we have also opened a new site in Harare, Zimbabwe, which allows us to provide our Hodzeko-Amasi probiotic yoghurt to fellow Africans and give them a healthier and tastier alternative to their existing versions.
