It all began with a husband and wife couple in Belvedere, South East London. Following a fruitless search for the natural set aromatic yogurt they had grown up eating back in Africa, they set down to work in their kitchen. They eventually came out of the kitchen with a product they christened Hodzeko-Amasi (meaning fermented milk in Bantu languages).

This created a lot of interest from relatives, friends and other African born people who found out about Hodzeko-Amasi. To share their natural set Aromatic yogurt with everyone, M&M Healthy Living Designs Ltd burst into life in August 2004.

Indeed, this was a first. “This was, as far as we know, the first ever commercial production of this product in the UK” the couple say. They stuck to the process they had originally established in their kitchen, to ensure a consistently high quality and tasty product.

You only have to taste it to understand why the couple is so committed to Hodzeko-Amasi. As some of their satisfied customers said:

Their passion for Hodzeko-Amasi did not end there. They have brought it into the 21st century by making it PROBIOTIC, again a first.

They have recently introduced Yebo! which is a Hodzeko-Amasi recipe probiotic yogurt drink using only fresh fruit, with no artificial colours or flavours.
